RWC Game 34: NZL vs. ITA

Cracks have been appearing in the All Black outfit since their dismal performance in Perth. But no one was ready for this.

Anticipating a form slump, no one was quite sure which All Blacks side would turn up on the day, but we were expecting them to at least turn up.

What we witnessed was abysmal, no points, no tackles, no idea… It’s like they weren’t even there at all.

The Italians on the other hand were outstanding! No missed tackles, zero… that’s right zero penalties conceded. I am reasonably certain no other side has gone penatly free through a Rugby World Cup match in its 32 year history. The only downside, they were unable to record any points courtesy of zero line breaks.

In the end both sides had to share the points in a match not even the spectators bothered to rock up to.

The All Blacks finish the pool stages with 3 wins and a draw. No team in the history of the Rugby World Cup has gone onto win the tournament after failing to secure victory in all 4 pool matches. The All Blacks just dropped the Rugby World Cup in 2019. Disappointing, given they started the tournament as favourites.

Final Score: New Zealand 0 – Italy 0
