Could Ireland overcome the darkness?

No… no they couldn’t. Too strong, too fast, too well connected, too many tries. Very hard to fault a strong All Blacks performance.

It was the 69th minute before Ireland grace the scoreboard with its presence.

On the plus side, the loss to Japan means elimination in the Quarter Final, rather than waiting til November 2 to have their hearts broken.

I can’t see anyone stopping the darkness. England are the best chance, but i just don’t see them matching this near faultless side.

Even their cheating is brilliant. Matt Todd in the 76th minute anticipated a try at the base of the posts and so positioned himself (illegally) in between the player and the post. It was picked up this time, but so often is let go courtesy of their superior speed and intelligence.

As anticipated, the Irish gameplay was sub-standard and they had no real answer for speed, variety and smart play.

Ireland unfortunately endure yet another Quarter Final exit.

And the rest of the world unfortunately have to endure yet another All Black semi-final appearance.

Final Score: New Zealand 46 – Ireland 14
