The men in red take on Les “lucky dip” bleus in Oita today
Wales have had a solid World Cup campaign so far, topping their pool with only the one minor scare against Australia. They were able to get it done by 4 points, largely due to smart play and taking chances. They easily accounted for Fiji, Uruguay and Georgia.
The French however qualified courtesy of a narrow (and controversial) win over Argentina, a thoroughly unconvincing win over USA, a miniscule 21 – 23 win over Tonga and a 0 – 0 draw with England (match abandoned).
Nothing about this match up suggests the French will win.
Which is precisely when they are most dangerous.
France have had some of their most famous victories after their worst performances.
But there will be no revolution tonight. Warren Gatland’s men will be to fast, well-coordinated and too clever.
Prediction: Wales by 20
